How do you wear women's wedding ring sets? Is the engagement ring on the floor, on tape?

We have just gotten married, and I am so, like the wedding dress confused ring set …. you wear the ring on the bottom? Or you wear the band on the floor? Silly, I know, but it was bugging me. Thanks for your input.
